Recording Sri Lankan Songbird Ambience

One early morning in Sri Lanka, while staying at a quiet hotel near the forest, we set up our audio gear to record the peaceful sounds of the jungle waking up. Hidden among the trees, birds filled the air with their songs, creating a rich and layered soundscape. Using the Merlin Bird ID app, we identified what might be a spotted dove and an oriental magpie robin, though many other calls remained a mystery. Just before the village came to life, we were lucky to record a particularly beautiful solo from one of the birds. In the distance, the occasional bark of a dog and faint human activity add subtle depth to this tranquil morning atmosphere.

We recommend checking out more sounds from Sri Lanka here!
