As we prepared to leave our Wellington apartment for a day of exploration, dark clouds loomed on the horizon, and the wind began to intensify. On a whim, I decided to place our recorder near a window left slightly ajar. Just minutes after we stepped out, the wind and rain started.
Upon our return, we played back the recordings and were thrilled with the result. The rhythmic drumming of rain against the window, accompanied by the eerie wail of the wind sneaking through the window cracks, mixed together to form a captivating soundscape with the distant sounds of city traffic.
