We’re back with another addition to our ever-growing collection of airport and aircraft sound effect libraries. This time, we bring you the ultimate collection of private jet sounds from not one, not two, but 18 different jets from the Aspen Airport in Colorado.
What’s so special about this collection, you ask? Well, for one thing, it’s the first time we were able to record on the side of an airfield instead of just from the front and back of the runways. Plus, the Aspen airport is no ordinary airport – it’s a small ski resort town airport that only allows certain aircraft types like the Citation XLS+, Challenger 650 Phenom 300, or Bombardier to land.
To record these high-quality aircraft sound effects, we positioned ourselves as close to the airfield as possible, allowing us to capture some amazing pass by, ground taxi pass by from the distance, the shut down of the engines in the background, and extremely loud and roaring takeoffs and landing sound effects from these luxury private jets and Bombardier commercial planes operated by American Airlines.
To record these sounds, we used a combination of recording equipment, including the Zoom F4 with the DPA 4060 microphones fixed on an A-B rig and the Zoom F8n the Wildtronics Mono/Stereo parabolic dish so we could follow the planes.
Now, we know you’re probably excited to get your hands on these sound effects, and we don’t blame you! You’ll be happy to know that this library is 100% royalty-free, giving you endless possibilities for your sound design, music or post production projects. So go ahead, enjoy listening, and have fun with these amazing sound effects!
