During our time in Hong Kong, we spent hours recording the lively atmosphere of the city’s ferry terminals. From the moment we arrived at the pier, we were surrounded by the rhythmic hum of engines, the echo of announcements, and the constant flow of commuters and tourists. The ever-changing soundscape of the harbor made this an incredible place to record authentic urban waterfront sounds.

We recorded the deep rumble of departing ferries, the clatter of chains securing boats, and the sharp beeping of boarding gates as passengers stepped on and off. The changing weather brought new textures to the soundscape. Wind gusted through the docks, rain pattered on the pavement, and distant thunder echoed over Victoria Harbour.
