Let me take you along on another one of my fascinating recording sessions, this time in Dunedin, New Zealand. I found myself wrapped up in the tranquil ambience of a rainy day. As I settled in, I could hear the rhythmic symphony of raindrops dancing on various surfaces – our motel’s secluded patio, the lush foliage, and rustling bushes around.
I always find something mesmerizing about the distant hum of city traffic blending subtly with the soothing patter of rain. It’s like an urban-nature symphony creating a unique, harmonious soundscape. But that’s not all. While recording, I managed to recorded the occasional wailing sirens that added an unexpected twist to the tranquillity, along with the distant drone of an airplane soaring above.
