Hi Guys! Today I have another free ocean sound from California for you.
You might know that I recorded ocean sounds at “The Wedge” and around “The 1000 Steps Beach” at daytime but for this recording, I went at night time down to the Newport Pier and I think it was around 11 pm if I am correct.
Newport Beach is a fancy area in Orange County with almost 90000 people but you can’t tell where it begins or where it ends. Everything looks the same but the pier and the ocean site is beautiful.
The Newport pier was reconstructed on the same site in 1940 after a hurricane destroyed the pier before.
The total length is around 1,032 feet (314.6 m) long and it’s a nice walk at sunset.
About the field recording!
I placed myself direct underneath the pier so I was able to record the water crashing on the beach and on the woodwork.
Newport is a save area but ten minutes are long enough and I packed my stuff and went back home.
Because there’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.
