Maybe this sound could be part in your next spooky Halloween sound project? I drove for about one hour to the St. Gabriel Canyon to record some nature sounds! I stopped the car on the shoulder and walked a small path.
But then I came across this interesting place with this concrete in the forest! It’s like a plateau and it looked like that maybe somebody had the idea to built a house here in this nature!
When you walk along this little road to this place, I felt not comfortable at all! A lot of graffiti, trash, and little fire areas! It seems like somebody lives here in the woods!
Anyway, I took the microphone and walked around this place and snapped this wooden sticks with my feed what creates a nice impact sound. That was fun listening to it at the same time! I also did some running sounds and whoosh effects with my shoes!
Before I left, I came across a glass bottle so I kicked this bottle around what creates another nice sound! This sound is also included in the downloadable sound file!
Here is the exact location where I recorded this audio!
I also did some recording on a flowing river and this sound will be up very soon. So stay tuned for that!
“Listening is such a simple act. It requires us to be present, and that takes practice, but we don’t have to do anything else. We don’t have to advise, or coach, or sound wise. We just have to be willing to sit there and listen”.
Margaret J. Wheatley
